TMI-Alert* to Discuss the Impact and Status of Three Mile Island 40 years After the Meltdown

Three Mile Island Alert (“TMIA”) will hold a press conference on Monday, March 25, 2019 to discuss the Three Mile Island core melt accident and its consequences. The press conference will be held in the Main Rotunda of the Capitol beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Tim Judson, Executive Director from Nuclear Information and Resource Service, will explain events surrounding the Accident that began on March 28, 1979.

Arnie Gundersen, a nuclear engineer, former senior Vice President of Nuclear Energy Services, and chief engineer of Fairewinds Associates, will detail radiation releases and the health impacts of the Accident.

Eric Epstein, Chairman of TMI-Alert, will discuss the current status of TMI-2, which is still waiting to be cleaned up 40 years later.
