The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will be hosting an information meeting with a Q&A session, August 10 at 1PM ET, to discuss Executive Order 14300 Rulemaking - Reforming and Modernizing the NRC’s Radiation Protection Framework. Any comments you make here will NOT be official, so please submit those separately.

The NRC released this draft proposed rule (PR), which would allow more radiation exposure at the industry’s discretion. Comment deadline is August 31, 2026. See instructions and talking points, here and here, to get you started. The PR would allow greater exposures “just to save the nuclear power industry money,” says Ed Lyman, Union of Concerned Scientists. But it is also to appease Trump’s tech billionaire donors who want data centers.
